Jon Lapeyra Martin
Born in 1992, and almost since then loving the ocean and the marine environment. Oringinally from the Basque Country, Jon grew up in this region located at the western Pyrenees, where the natural heritage is all about mountains, valleys and sea.
Graduated in 2014 in Environmental Sciences at the UPV/EHU, he spent a year in the Marine Biology faculty of Universidad Valparaiso (Chile), where he got passionated about marine science.
Between 2014-2016 he got inmersed in the European Msc Marine Environment and Resources, and along with the improvement of his freediving and scuba-diving skills he got trapped by the delights of the underwater world, and the idea of exhibiting its beauty.
To date, he holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions research grant from the European Commission and he’s based in the ‘Ecology of Aquatic Systems’ laboratory of the University of Brussels.
